Louisiana Gubernatorial Candidate Stops in Baton Rouge

Bobby Jindal, a Baton Rouge native, promises ethics reform

Bobby Jindal, a Republican congressman, made a campaign stop in Baton Rouge, focusing his remarks on his gubernatorial campaign promise to stamp out corruption. WAFB reports on his remarks concerning a special legislative session he will call if elected:

Jindal said the special session "will be devoted exclusively to making Louisiana the best, not the worst, in the country when it comes to ethics standards," Jindal told a gathering of supporters.   "I’m here to ask you to join me," Jindal said.  "Join me in a war on corruption.  Join me in a war on incompetence.   Join me in a war against out of control government spending."

Jindal is a Baton Rouge native, and is hoping to drum up support in his home town.
