BET’s Black College Tour stops at SU in Baton Rouge
Earlier this week, the spotlight turned to a sometimes unheralded part of Baton Rouge real estate: Southern University. BET’s Black College Tour visits traditionally black colleges every year, bringing hip-hop music, contests and more to 10 campuses around the country. The Advocate reports on this year’s stop at Southern University:
The day’s events included a poetry contest, a three-point basketball shootout and a drawing for a roundtrip flight on Southwest Airlines. … Universal Records artists also performed, including Brisco, Currency and Swizz Beatz.
