Baton Rouge Mortgage News: Predatory Lending Bill

Bill introduced in Congress could lead to tighter Baton Rouge lending standards

Even though Baton Rouge lending standards have tightened, along with those across the country, they might become a little tighter if the predatory lending bill passes. The bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this week. MarketWatch reports on the predatory lending bill:

The bill creates a national standard for originating mortgages that will cover every mortgage originator, Frank said, including what he called a "common sense" approach to writing loans.

There are Baton Rouge mortgage programs offered to help homeowners, without them having to turn to predatory lending.
