Healthcare Coverage Expands for Louisiana Children
Baton Rouge residents to benefit from new state insurance program
In an expansion of the LaCHIP program, more healthcare coverage will be provided for Louisiana children. The new additions aren’t free, however. The Daily Advertiser describes the costs associated with the new state insurance program:
There’s a $50 monthly charge for the
additional participants but hospital stays are covered. The plan calls
for a $150 deductible payment for emergency room visits, unless the
child is admitted to the hospital, and 10 percent copayments of the
provider rate for physician or clinic visits, lab or X-ray services,
medical equipment and physical therapy.
For prescription drugs,
the enrollee would pay 50 percent or a maximum $50 for a 30-day supply
and hospice care has a 20 percent copay.
