Group Wants to Improve Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge Area Foundation aims to improve the city
On Thursday, the first meeting of the CityStats program took place. The idea is to gather ideas and data, and then try to direct the resources of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation in ways that would be most beneficial to the community. While the first meeting is over, The Advocate points out that there will be two more meetings in the next two months:
what statistics the foundation should measure. The indicators will be
finalized May 13 at a third public meeting. Both events will be held at
the Baton Rouge Parish Recreation and Park Commission’s headquarters on
Florida Boulevard.
The effort is meant to preserve the great things about Baton Rouge — its art, culture, diversity, music and more — while improving the city’s overall potential.
