A Year and a Half Later, Identical Triplets Doing Well

Baton Rouge area home to rarity

Identical triplets happen once in every 200 million births. And the Baton Rouge area is home to one of these rarities. The West family welcomed their identical triplets into the world about a year and a half ago, and today all three are doing fine. The Advocate reports on how the West’s found out about their children:

A trip to the doctor’s office at the beginning of Danielle’s pregnancy yielded two heartbeats. A sonogram then revealed three.

“They kept finding baby after baby after baby,” Danielle said. “That’s how we found out we were having triplets.”
