Plan Baton Rouge in Phase Two?
The Metro Council is considering a second phase in the redevelopment of downtown Baton Rouge
The Metro Council, along with other partners, will further consider funding the second phase of the Plan Baton Rouge,a program under Center for Planning Excellence that was designed to redevelop the downtown Baton Rouge area.
The program was created 10 years ago and the second phase will help kickstart the process. The second phase of funding will cost $350,000, according to Deputy Director Jeff Fluhr.
Plan Baton Rouge wants to redevelop the area into a 24 hour desitination where visitors and Baton Rouge natives can live, work, and play proud. After development, downtown Baton Rouge is predicted to attract restaurants, art galleries, retail shops, and neighborhood service facilities, including the rennovation of neighborhoods.
