Baton Rouge Offers Statewide Veterans Reunion
Baton Rouge offers it’s first statewide veterans reunion open to the public
Roger Arnold and several other mostly Vietnam veterans are trying to make sure that veterans-those who served before and after Vietnam-will always be welcomed home with open arms by encouraging those who have served to attend the The Louisiana All Veterans Reunion.
The Reunion will be held May 15th-19th (Thursday through Sunday) at BREC’s Airline Highway Park/Fairgrounds, 17200 Airline Highway. The goal of the event is to offer thanks to veterans and give them an opportunity to reminisce and re-form friendships.
The event is open to the public and will include tributes to veterans, military equipment displays, live music, a children’s village and food. There will be no admission charge, but donations will be requested at the entrance.
This is the first statewide reunion that invites all veterans of all military conflicts. According to Marine-veteran, Bill Campbell, there are 480,000 veterans living in Louisiana who served in the Marines.
