Baton Rouge is the place to see stars. If you are interested in learning more about the planets and seeing them up close you should check out the BREC-LSU-BRAS Highland Road Park Observatory. The observatory is open Tuesday through Saturday with night time viewing on Friday and Saturday evenings until 9:30. Friday nights a lecture series occurs. Every Friday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. weather permitting, you can learn something knew and have a chance to observe what you are learning about. Admission to the observatory is free.
