Trails are a Focus in Baton Rouge Louisiana
Baton Rouge has taken notice of its residents’ requests for trails and is making the commitment to building them. BREC’s Capital Area Pathways Project is looking at building natural paths across the city of Baton Rouge, focussing on East Baton Rouge and its surrounding Parishes. “The 2.8-mile trail corridor stretches from Siegen Lane to Bluebonnet Blvd. along Dawson and Ward’s creeks,” states BREC’s Web site. “The trail corridor is being pursued for four important reasons; the location is very visible, the land owners are in support of the project, the project links many destinations, construction can be quickly accomplished, and finally, it has potential for future growth.”
Baton Rouge lends itself well to trails and pathways because of the bayous, creeks and open green space that surrounds it. With gas prices soaring these pathways will be a welcome alternative for people wishing for an alternative mode of transportation. Additionally the trails being planned sync well with Louisiana’s goal for a healthier lifestyle for its citizens.
The focus of trails and healthy living in Baton Rouge creates a wonderful environment to live in. For information on real estate in Baton Rouge contact Glenda Daughety at (225) 298-6936.
