The Hilltop Arboretum is a place to learn and relax in Baton Rouge Louisiana

Located on Highland Road, just south of LSU, are 14 acres of lovely landscape, where you will find a variety of native plants and trees, from old oaks and magnolias to bamboo, wildflowers and grasses.  The Hilltop Arboretum is a beautiful place to wander along nature trails, where you can learn and relax as you do so.  The Arboretum is free of charge and is open during daylight hours seven days a week.

Don’t miss the 2008 Smart Growth Summit occurring on August 14 and 15 this year.  This year the topic is Livable Louisiana, covering green design and sustainable landscape to name a few subjects.  The summit will target elected and appointed officials as well as any other groups that may wish to attend.  The summit is open to the public and is free of charge. The Smart Growth Summit will take place at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street, downtown Baton Rouge.

[...] LSU’s Hilltop Arboretum is having its Fall Garden Tour this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The garden tour is titled “Focus on Southdowns” and is featuring six gardens in the Southdowns neighborhood.
