Christmas trees can have a second life by being turned into mulch. Christmas trees can be recycled by dropping them off at various locations throughout Baton Rouge. Trees should be cleared of all decorations before being dropped off for recycling. You can drop a tree of in a recycling box atthe following locations from now until January 26th.

- Highland Road Park, 14024 Highland Road
- Forest Park, 13900 S. Harrell’s Ferry Road
- North Sherwood Forest Park, 3140 N. Sherwood Forest
- Pecue Wood Recycling Facility, 9455 Pecue Lane
- Scenic Highway Wood Recycling Facility, 12601 Scenic Highway
- LSU, Skip Bertman Drive in the lot across from the veterinary school
from now until January 26th. In addition, form January 5th through the 17th, you can put your tree out on the curb on your scheduled garbage day and Allied Waste will pick it up. The trees will be separated and taken to Natural Resources Recovery where most will be turned into mulch.
