Baton Rouge LA Steps Up to Support Prom

The Cinderella Project’s motto is “give a helping hand by giving a gown”.  Last year the Cinderella Project helped nearly 400 girls feel like Cinderella.  The girls were able to attend their proms in dresses donated by generous people from Baton Rouge.  While there is a year-round drop-off site (Appletree Storage at Perkins Rowe, 10560 Perkins Road in Baton Rouge) there will be a Winter 2009 Dress Drop-Off Event from Saturday January 17th through Sunday January 25th at all Baton Rouge YMCA locations.  There are certain requirements for dresses that are being dropped off:

•    Dresses MUST be on hangers and dry-cleaned.
•    Dresses MUST be in style, in excellent condition and purchased after 2003.
•    Dresses MUST be prom dresses, formal gowns or fancy party dresses (long or short).

The Cinderella Project will NOT accept:
•    Two-piece bridesmaids dresses
•    Garments that are faded, torn or stained
•    Garments that out of style (purchased prior to 2003)
•    Garments that have not been dry-cleaned
•    Wedding or debutante dresses
•    Tuxedos or men’s clothes

Dust off your gown, get it cleaned and help make a girl’s fairy tale wish come true.  For more information, go to www.cinderellaprojectbr.org.
