Baton Rouge Making its Mark in Film Industry
Louisiana has long been a hot spot for the film industry and Baton Rouge is rising to the forefront. New Orleans and Shreveport have long been the places to film in Louisiana but Baton Rouge, with its two large studio companies, Celtic Media Centre and Red Stick Studio Development LLC, is now on the map. “Battle: Los Angeles” has been filming in Louisiana, in Shreveport and Baton Rouge, and has utilized the studio at Celtic for shooting scenes and completing sound work. The excitement of having a big Hollywood film shot at the studios in Baton Rouge is omnipresent.
The film industry is bringing big money and exposure to Baton Rouge. A recent article in the Tri-Parish Times quoted Andy Given, Sony’s senior vice president of physical production, as saying, “I think this has been a great location for the film, and it’s going to put Baton Rouge on the map,.” He also said that “the company’s experience in Baton Rouge and at Celtic has been phenomenal.” Baton Rouge’s commitment to the film industry appears to be paying off quite nicely.
