Birders in Baton Rouge are getting ready to count birds on January 2nd. The Audobon Society is currently conducting a bird count, to track migration patterns, breed counts and . The annual Christmas Bird Count began on December 16th and will run through January 5th, with different areas having different official days for their observation. Hand in hand with the Christmas Bird Count is the Winter Bird Atlas count, which gives those in Louisiana a good look at what birds exist in the State during the winter.
Participation is welcomed for these Baton Rouge birding events. Whether you are an experienced birder or a novice your help is appreciated. These two bird count events are sure to offer great experiences to anyone interested in birds.
