Louisiana Employment Figures Better Than a Year Ago

Louisiana employment figures are better than a year ago.  The state of Louisiana may have lost jobs in July but, as far as employment figures go, it is up compared with July of 2009, an improvement by any standard.  The state’s current Louisiana employment figures are looking goodunemployment rate is 7.2%, significantly lower than the national average of 9.5%.

Baton Rouge is the state’s capital, and is continuously receiving credit as a recession-proof city.  A recent article by Bloomberg’s Businessweek named Baton Rouge LA as one of the nation’s strongest job markets.
