Baton Rouge Communities Benefit Economically from Plants

ExxonMobile helps the Baton Rouge economy

Baton Rouge communities often find themselves impacted by a variety of factors. And, economically, one of the most important in the area are the four ExxonMobile plants that help stimulate the economy and provide jobs in the area. The Advocate reports on the economic impact of ExxonMobile in Baton Rouge, according to an economic impact study:

The $4.9 billion in sales and $1.3 billion in household earnings don’t
represent just what occurs at ExxonMobil, Scott said, but those figures
include the impact of a multiplier effect. Because of its heavy capital
spending and significant hiring of contract workers, ExxonMobil
generates another 7.3 workers in the economy for each of its direct
employees.
