Banning Free Tickets for Louisiana Lawmakers?

Ban part of crack down on corruption in the state government

Right now, lobbyists can give Louisiana lawmakers free tickets to cultural and sporting events, including LSU Tigers football games. Under a new law, recently deferred, some would be prohibited from giving free tickets to Louisiana lawmakers. The Advocate reports on this effort to crack down on corruption in the state government:

Elected officials are allowed to accept up to $500 in free tickets a
year to cultural and sports events. SB3 would put a ban on free tickets
from lobbyists and other prohibited sources, such as people with a
business or financial relationship with the official’s agency.
