| March 31, 2008 | | Using a Baton Rouge real estate agent has its advantages | When it comes to selling Baton Rouge real estate, some people have the same idea as Chris Pirillo: do it yourself. And, while this may be an attractive option for some, it does not take into account the fact that using a Baton Rouge real estate agent has its advantages when you are selling your home:
- Research and knowledge. A Baton Rouge real estate agent knows the area. S/he has done the research and is up to date on how much homes in certain communities should cost. Additionally, a Baton Rouge real estate agent knows about special home loan programs and can point you to valuable resources.
- Does most of the legwork. It takes a lot of work to sell a Baton Rouge home. Advertising and other promotional techniques (such as an open house and online listings) tend to require you to do a lot. So does gathering up paperwork for the contract, title, insurance and other parts of the home buying process. There's a lot to do, and a real estate agent is familiar with all of it -- and can get it done for you.
- Saves you time. All of the things that it takes to sell Baton Rouge real estate on a do it yourself basis are time-consuming. You have a job and a family. Your time is valuable. A real estate agent does all the heavy-lifting, leaving you more time to prepare to move.
