New LSU Head Basketball Coach Named
Trent Johnson named Tigers new head basketball coach
Trent Johnson is expected to be introduced at a news conference today as the LSU head basketball coach. Johnson has been coaching at Stanford, and sources there confirm that the athletic department is disappointed he is leaving. WAFB reports on the career of Trent Johnson:
The 51-year-old Boise State graduate
was an assistant at Stanford before coming back to lead the Cardinal to
four straight post-season appearances.
His Sweet 16 trip at
Nevada was the school’s first, and the 28 wins this season make him
80-48 (.625) at Stanford and 159-122 (.566) for his career.
